From September 2016 till March 2018, All Score presented a (mostly) monthly drop-in music composition workshops in Urbana Free Library’s Lewis Auditorium (no relation). These sessions often involved curious community members stopping in, trying out writing graphic scores or learning more about instrumentation. Among the fun outcomes included were local songwriter Paul Kotheimer’s vocal, piano and bassoon trio arrangement of his “The Lesson of the Lonely Sea Serpent.”
Teaching artists included harpist/composer Dr. Molly O’Roark, Standard Rep Bassoon Quartet (Elliot Cobb, Christopher Raymond, Claire Taylor, Marcus Westbrook), bassoonist/songwriter Garrett Jones, composer Eric Zurbin, and bassoonist Annie Lyle Mason.
